That depends on your skills and ski experience. Beginners and intermediate skiers stay with their ski instructor on the practice slope at the Ski School Reith bei Kitzbühel.

Advanced skiers, who can manage the blue, red (and black) slopes will enjoy their ski classes in the extensive ski region of Kitzbühel.

Our racing group trains on the special, fenced off race slope in the ski area of Kitzbühel.

The free ride groups will discover the ski region around Kitzbühel and ski off-piste as well.

The course times of the various groups are as follows:

  • Slope Group (Beginners and Intermediates) are from Sunday to Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • Mountain Group (Advanced and Experts) are from 9:45 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The meeting place is at the ski slope in Reith bei Kitzbühel:

  • Slope Group: 9:30 a.m.
  • Mountain Group: 9:15 a.m.

You may use the FREE-OF-CHARGE ski bus to reach the Ski School Reith and to the ski lifts of the ski region Kitzbühel (including Fleckalmbahn, Kitzbühler Hornbahn).

All ski lessons as well as private lessons are to be paid prior to the beginning at the Ski School Office Reith bei Kitzbühel.

Ski School for Children

From the age of 2 years children are looked after at the HUBSI Bambini Club.

Between the ages of 2 ½ and 3 years, children can attend a ‘introductory ski course’ – depending of their interest, they can book a further ½ day in this course or a full day at a special rate.

At the age of 4 years, children can join the children’s ski classes. The groups are assigned according to ski experience.

The upper limit is 8 children per group. In the case of private lessons, the children receive one-on-one instruction or in small, self-chosen groups.

The meeting place is at the ski slope in Reith bei Kitzbuehel:

  • Slope Group: 9:30 a.m.
  • Mountain Group: 9:00 a.m.

Yes, either ½ day, 1 full day, 2 days, 3 days, etc.

The longer the children ski course is booked, the less expensive the individual day is.

Beginners and intermediate skiers, who stay on the ski slope located in front of the Ski School Reith bei Kitzbühel (the Slope Group) DO NOT require a lift ticket.

As soon as the children begin skiing in the ski region Kitzbühel, they need a lift ticket. The ski instructors will inform them in time. All advanced children (Mountain Groups), who ski with the group in the ski region Kitzbühel and are 6 years or older will require a lift ticket from the Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel. Children under the age of 6 years can use all lifts free-of-charge.

The lift tickets can be purchased directly from our Ski School Office or at the valley office of the Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel.

Beginners and intermediate skiers, who stay on the ski slope located in front of the Ski School Reith bei Kitzbühel (the Slope Group) DO NOT require a lift ticket.

As soon as the children begin skiing in the ski region Kitzbühel, they need a lift ticket. The ski instructors will inform them in time. All advanced children (the Mountain Group), who ski with the group in the ski region Kitzbuehel and are 6 years or older do need a lift pass from the Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel. Children under the age of 6 years can use the lifts free-of-charge.

The lift tickets can be purchased directly from our Ski School Office or at the valley office of the Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel.

The rental equipment is not included in the ski course price.

The necessary ski equipment – full or individual items – can be rented through our integrated Ski Equipment Rental Office for ½ day or for several days at a time.

No, lunch is not included in the course price. An additional charge of 9 Euros per day applies.

Our ski instructors spend lunch time with the children and take care of them during this time.

Yes, of course.

We recommend that parents watch their children from a “suitable” distance so that the lessons are not disturbed.

Helmet – yes, definitely. According to Austrian law, children and teenagers under the age of 15 years are required to wear a helmet.

Back protector – advanced children are recommended to wear a back protector.

Please wear warm and dry clothing suitable for the weather conditions. Mittens are warmer than gloves, and a balaclava provides more warmth on cold, stormy days. Skis for beginners should not reach above shoulders and for advanced skiers  to the the tips of their noses. Ski helmets are absolutely necessary. Ski boots should have 2 to 4 buckles, and as a rule of thumb – the more experienced one is, the more buckles the boots should have. Don’t forget sun screen! Sunscreen and sunglasses are also necessary in cloudy weather conditions. Ski goggles are strongly recommended for snowy conditions. Packing some tissues in your child’s jacket is always a good idea.

On Day 1, the group organization takes place at the meeting place of the Ski School Reith bei Kitzbühel.

Depending of the skiing level, the children will either remain on the ski slope of the Ski School Reith bei Kitzbühel or they will ski with their instructor in the ski region of Kitzbühel.

On the following days,  Mountain Groups, if co-ordinated with the ski instructor, can be dropped off directly at the ski lift station (Fleckalmbahn).

The courses will end exactly where they start from.

The popular ski race takes place every Thursday on the “Reither Streif” at the ski slope of the Ski School Reith. It begins punctually at 10 a.m.

The prizes are awarded on the same afternoon at 4 p.m. at the “Kulturhaus” in Reith or at Landgasthof Reitherwirt. Participants and parents will be informed ahead of time by the ski instructors where the prize ceremony will take place – with HUBSI, the mascot. Any changes will also be announced with advanced notice by the ski instructors.

There will be no ski race in the last week of December due to organizational reasons!

Racing School

For children, who love to soar through the gates and can already manage controlled long and short parallel turns.

Minimum Age: 8 years

The meeting point for the racing group is at 8:30 a.m. at the ski slope in front of Ski School Reith bei Kitzbuehel or 9:00 a.m. at the Fleckalmbahn (only with valid course and lift tickets).

The children/teens in the racing group have lunch accompanied by their ski instructor in the ski region Kitzbühel; food and beverages are paid for by participants themselves.

It is required by law to wear a helmet. We do recommend that children and teenage participants in the racing group wear a back protector as well.

Freeride

This course is perfect for adventure-hungry, nature-loving skiers, who have the necessary basic skill level (good skiing technique, smooth and correct parallel turns or carving style – even on the black slopes).

Minimum Age: 12 years.

The meeting point for the Free Ride group is at 8:30 a.m. at the ski slope in front of Ski School Reith bei Kitzbühel or 9:00 a.m. at the Fleckalmbahn (only with valid course and lift tickets).

Snowboard

From ½ day to several days.

The longer the Snowboard course is booked, the less expensive the individual days are.

Most of our guests take lessons over a period of  3 days.

As a rule, between 4 and 8 participants.

Beginners and intermediate snowboarders do not need one initially.

More experienced snowboarders, who snowboard in the ski region Kitzbühel, need a lift ticket.

Lift tickets can be purchased at our Ski School office Reith bei Kitzbühel or at the Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel.

The beginning of these courses depends on the time of registration.

Minimum number of participants: 4 people

Cross Country Skiing

Either ½ day course (2 hours) or a full-day course (4 hours).

The cross-country ski course takes place with a private ski instructor, which means the group size is based on the customer’s wishes.

Both classic and skating styles are offered; depending on the customer’s wishes either classic or skating can be taught.

Private Lessons

Depending of the level of skill, the children will either remain on the ski slope of the Ski School Reith bei Kitzbühel or they will ski with their instructor in the ski region Kitzbühel.

Information for your meeting point will be given at our ski school office prior to your course.

Upon booking full-day lessons, you can decide on the time. The lesson times and duration are as follows:

  • Full-day lessons last 4 hours (breaks are not included) and begin usually at 10 a.m.
  • Half-day lessons last 2 hours and begin either at 10 a.m. or 1 p.m.

Yes, of course, depending on availability we will book your preferred instructor.

During private lessons the instructors can give you individual training based on your skill level and needs,
therefore optimal learning success is guaranteed in a shorter amount of time.

Ski School for Adults

Yes. We are very flexible in our group organization and guarantee a homogeneous feeling in the assigned groups.

We classify guests as beginners if they have never skied before or have only been on skis for a few lessons. Anyone who can ski soft turns on appropriate slopes will be promoted to an intermediate level.

Maximum number: 8 people

Beginners and intermediates do not require one. Classes take place on the ski slope at the Ski School Reith bei Kitzbühel initially.

As soon as the group skis with the ski instructor in the ski region of Kitzbühel, then a lift ticket is necessary. Lift tickets can be purchased at our Ski School office Reith bei Kitzbühel or at the Bergbahn AG Kitzbuehel.

We recommend wearing a helmet.

On the first day, the group will meet on the ski slope in front of the Ski School Reith bei Kitzbühel. Following this, the ski instructor will decide where the group will ski (depending on the skill level/standard).
